Abstract Submission

Deadline for the submission of your abstract in general presentation

Abstracts are required at the time of registration for general presentation. If you wish to present in general sessions (oral or poster), please prepare one-page abstract (PDF format) and submit it by clicking the button below.

After your abstract submission is completed, an email notification including the receipt number will be sent to your registered email address. This notification is usually sent within a few minutes, but if you do not receive it, your abstract submission may not have been completed. Please check your registration details, and if it is not completed, please register again.

Abstract Preparation Instructions

We strongly recommend you to download the following format and overwrite it according to the instructions for preparation of abstracts.

Manuscripts should be created as Microsoft Word files and then saved as PDF files.

  1. Use A4 size paper with margins of 30mm at the top and 25mm each at the bottom and left/right.
  2. Write the title of your presentation (Helvetica or Arial font, font size: 14 pt) and insert a blank line (10.5 pt) below it. Title should be written within two lines.
  3. Affiliations and authors' names (Times or Times New Roman font size: 10.5 pt) should be written. Line breaks between affiliation(s) and name(s). The first author must be the presenting author. If there are multiple authors with different affiliations, use superscript numbers.
  4. Insert a blank line and type the main text from line 8.
  5. The text should be written in Times or Times New Roman font (10.5 pt.). Use the font Symbol for Greek letters such as α, β, and Σ. Do not use characters that are dependent on the computer model or external characters. Paste figures and tables directly into the text.
  6. Write the contact information including Tel, FAX, and E-mail in English on line 46 and after. Use Times or Times New Roman font.

Eligibility for Abstract Submission

Presenters must be members of the Japanese Society for Biomaterials. If you are planning to make a presentation and are not a member, please join the Japanese Society for Biomaterials at least 10 days prior to abstract submission and obtain a membership.
Please select either a regular member or a student member of the Japanese Society for Biomaterials at the time of abstract submission.

Both oral and poster presentation are possible with your choice.

Please note that we may not be able to accommodate all requests for presentation format due to program organization. Please allow the final decision to the Program Committee. Presentations time will be limited for oral and poster presentations.

About the Best Poster Award

To apply for the award, please complete the abstract submission form.

All the applicants are requested to obtain membership of the JSB 10 days before the abstract submission. Without your membership at the time of abstract submission, you are not eligible for the Best Poster Award.

About the declaration of the Conflict of Interest (COI)

Nescessary declaration of the conflict of interest should also be given in the last part of main text.

Please select the preferred field of presentation from the following classification by “Stages”, “Materials”, and “Fields”, respectively (e.g., II-A-1, III-B-2, etc.).

You will be allowed to modify your registration within the registration deadline. Please login to the abstract submission system using your login ID and password.

Notes on the registration/submission

  • For the recommended browsers in the abstract submission, please check the login screen of the system. You may not be able to submit your abstract depending on your computer environment. If you are unable to submit your abstract, please try submitting your abstract from another computer with a different computer environment.
  • Please note that the online systems will be busy just before the abstract submission deadline, so please register as soon as possible. The secretariat assumes no responsibility for incomplete or inadequate abstract submission due to congestion.
  • The secretariat will not be held responsible for any information entered incorrectly by the contributors himself/herself. Before clicking the "Register" button, please be sure to check that the contents are correct.
